We have the knowledge and experience to design and develop databases to perform any function that your business requires. This could mean designing a database from scratch, enhancing an existing database, or creating a new database and integrating with your existing databases.

As well as database design, we are also able to import data from any ODBC-compliant data source into client databases, which we achieve by creating a custom import program to map existing data to the new database. We can import from almost all industry-standard database formats, as well as from text files, CSV files, Microsoft Word and Microsoft Excel. Our custom imports can save days - and often weeks - of manual data entry.

Database formats we work with

Since virtually every project we undertake involves a database of some variety, we have significant experience designing and developing relational and hierarchical databases in a wide variety of formats for a number of platforms. The platforms we regularly work with include:

  • SQL Server
  • My SQL
  • XML
  • MS Access
If you work with a database format not listed above, we may well be able to help. Please call or email us, and we'll be able to give you an instant answer. 0208 123 3166 Office Hours: Mon-Fri 8:00 am - 6:00 pm

Our database design process

The first step of our design process is the planning phase, which involves discussing the aims of the database in depth and discussing database usage and the data that will stored within in.

Once the database has been designed, it is obviously imperative to consider how the data is going to be managed...

How your data is managed depends of factors such as: who needs to manage the data; whether they are managing it on an internal computer network or via a website; and whether they have any software for managing the data or they want to manage it via a web browser, to name a few.

We offer a number of ways of managing your data:

  • Integrate with an existing website
  • Integrate with a new website that we build
  • Provide a desktop front end (e.g. MS Access)
  • Provide software development services to integrate it with other databases
Data reporting

As with the data management interface there are a number of options for reporting on the data that we can offer, such as:

  • Development of web-based reports (for website or intranet)
  • Use of dedicated reporting software
  • Export to commonly used format for analysis e.g. Microsoft Excel or CSV
Which solution is most suitable for you will depend on your set-up, but we will discuss all the options and suggest the most suitable one for you during the database design phase.

What do I do now?
